ABOUT

Miriam is a practicing costume designer for movies and music videos whose work is rooted in fashion design and media science. Initially trained as Fashion Designer (BA) at Pforzheim University School of Design and as Theatre & Media Researcher (MA) at University Erlangen/Nürnberg, her practice employs an interdisciplinary approach spanning profound research, craftsmanship, art and design.

As costume designer she is interested in close collaborations with the director and the actors. Not only to develop a connection between the other creators and her design, but also to give the characters a depth of authenticity.

Lately she has proven her talent to create inspiring and lively characters in the design of the NETFLIX original „How to sell drugs online (fast)“, nominated at Cannes Series 2019, official competition. The series has just gone online and is directed by Lars Montag and Arne Feldhusen. For the music video „The Line“ by DJ ÂME feat. Matthew Herbert Miriam collaborated with Nikias Chryssos and dived into the world of dark to create glittering capes and costumes. She gave her debut with the sensitive festival movie „Wir haben nur gespielt“ by Ann Kristin Reyels which was nominated at Filmfest München 2018, Neues Deutsches Kino.

Besides her passion for costume design, Miriam worked as fashion designer for the cutting edge „Henrik Vibskov“ in Copenhagen, the award-winning Berlin based label „c.neeon“ and shaped the design of the start up „Lex Hynson“ in Bali, Indonesia. Since 2011, she runs her own fashion label based in Berlin with which she won several prizes.
